KHOREZM REGION

KHIVA

Khiva is located on the western side of Khorezm region, at 100 meters above sea level. Kyzyl-kum desert begins nearby to Khiva city.

URGENCH

Urgench is located in western Uzbekistan, on the Amu Darya River and the Shavat canal. The city is the capital of the Khorezm Province of Uzbekistan.

SHAHRISABZ

Shahrisabz means “green city” in Persian.  It is located approximately 80 km south of Samarkand. Once a major city of Central Asia, it is primarily known today as the birthplace of Temur the Great.

Several remaining impressive monuments from the Temurids’ Dynasty have been included in to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

SURXANDARYA REGION

TERMEZ

Termez is a city in southern Uzbekistan near the border with Afghanistan. It is the capital of Surhandarya Province.  Termez has an arid climate with extremely hot, long summers and short , cold and bitter winters.  It is the hottest point of Uzbekistan.

Ferghana Valley is one of the picturesque regions-oasis with territory of 22 thousand sq. kilometers (including surrounding mountains it’s up to 80 thousand sq. kilometers) and population of 7 million people.

Nukus is the capital city of the Republic of Karakalpakstan (in 1932 Nukus took the status of the city and on 1939 became the capital). Karakalpakstan is situated at Turan lowland on the north-west part of Uzbekistan taking 37 % of the territory of the whole country.

Navoi is a city and the capital of Navoi Province in the southwestern part of Uzbekistan. Today Navoi is Free Industrial Economic Zone (FIEZ) and Navoi province is one of the largest industrial centres of the country.
